Spoiler : Ethel Merman (1908 ~ 1984) Merman was primarily a stage actress and singer ~ belting out songs in Broadway musicals - but she did appear in 18 films. The best remembered of those films was "There's No Business Like Show Business" (1954) - the film title also being her signature song. She is also remembered for "Alexander's Ragtime Band" (38) and "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (63). Other films included: "We're Not Dressing" (34), "Kid Millions" (34), "The Big Broadcast Of 1936" (35), "Strike Me Pink" (36), "Anything Goes" (36), "Happy Landing" (38), "Stage Door Canteen" (43), "Call Me Madam" (53) and "The Art Of Love" (65). She also made hit records and appeared quite a bit on TV. Her fourth (and last) husband was Ernest Borgnine (from '64 to '65). Ethel passed in 1984 at age 76.

Married and divorced to talent agent William Smith (?-?); Hearst newsman Robert Levitt (?-1952); airline executive Robert Six (1953-1960); actor Ernest Borgnine for 38 days in 1964. Merman began her career as a secretary to the president of the B.K. Vacumn Booster-Brake Company. Broadway debut in "Girl Crazy" (1930), singing I've Got Rhythm, holding the clarion middle C for 16 bars.
