Old Time Radio Downloads > Adventure > Journey To The Center Of The Earth

Dr. Von Hardwigg, the star of the show, had discovered a manuscript that says one can see the center of the earth by “following volcanic tubes in the crater of a volcano in Iceland”. Thus, the story revolves around his adventure along with his nephew, Harry, who accompanied him on his quest, and Hans, his guide in the volcanoes of Iceland. Their adventure, as narrated from the point of view of Harry, involves not only the travels, but also their crazy encounter with natural hazards and prehistoric animals.

It was later clarified by Verne, the author, that he is not attempting a new theory (there was not so much information about Earth’s core then), but rather, the show was a pure product of his imagination.

ABOUT OLD TIME RADIO
The buzz-term for Old Time Radio is "OTR". OTR usually means radio broadcasting from the golden age of radio, mostly before 1964.These shows from the pre-television age include adventure, comedies, mystery shows, western dramas and shows from World War II. These programs feature the best talent of the day and were broadcast nearly as widely as cable programs today. And just like TV today, families would gather around their crystal radio sets to enjoy the entertainment together.
