Mystery House old time radio show varied greatly from its contemporaries in the 1940’s as it was not intended to be a regular program. The Mystery House series was actually a vocally dramatized and abbreviated version of full length novels set to be published by the Mystery House firm owned by Dan and Barbara Glenn in New York City. The Glenn’s employed their local staff to portray the characters in each episode with the sole objective of testing out the stories’ commercial viability on the listening public. Despite its relative obscurity, this short-lived anthology deserves a place in the golden age of radio drama. Mystery House is comprised of a total of 16 episodes that mostly dealt with murder mysteries and suspense thrillers. These old radio shows were highlighted by a particular installment that starred character actor Bela Lugosi, and employed a more professional cast and crew. Discover a thrilling world of adventure in the Mystery House.
