Old Time Radio Downloads > Mystery > Weird Circle

The Weird Circle was a 30-minute mystery horror radio series that aired on NBC for four years, from 1943 to 1947. It featured stories derived from classic horror, ghost tales, and supernatural stories, written by popular authors such as Honore de Balzac, Charles Dickens, Emily Bronte, Robert Louis Stevenson, Edgar Allan Poe, and many more. Each story was presented in the format of introducing the narrator first and then proceeding to the plot.

Although mystery and horror series were popular during the time this show aired, Weird Circle did not actually gain as much attention as its contemporaries due to a lot of factors. It was regarded just as your average horror series.

ABOUT OLD TIME RADIO
The buzz-term for Old Time Radio is "OTR". OTR usually means radio broadcasting from the golden age of radio, mostly before 1964.These shows from the pre-television age include adventure, comedies, mystery shows, western dramas and shows from World War II. These programs feature the best talent of the day and were broadcast nearly as widely as cable programs today. And just like TV today, families would gather around their crystal radio sets to enjoy the entertainment together.
