Yeah. Radio programs of the time were more about attacking communism. Hardly a satire of McCarthyism. Ironically, it sounds a lot like what's going on today.

Douglas, Susan (birth name was Zuska Zenta) Born in Vienna, Austria ca 1926. Married to Czech-born concert singer Jan Rubes (1950-?). Her family moved to Czechoslovakia when she was three years old. Douglas came to America in 1941, and was determined to become an actress. Her dream came true when she became a regular on CBS- Radio's School Of The Air, which led to a role on the CBS-Radio soap, Wilderness Road (1944- 1945). Jean Baker on the NBC and CBS Radio Network soap, Backstage Wife (?-?). Eunice on the CBS-Radio soap, Big Sister (?-?). Laura Weatherby on The Sparrow And The Hawk for CBS-Radio (1945-1946). Judy on Judy, Jill And Johnny for Mutual-Radio (1946-1947). Elsie Sandow on the CBS and NBC Radio Network soap, King's Row (1951-1952). Kathy Roberts Lang Grant Holden on the CBS-Radio and CBS-TV soap, The Guiding Light (1952-1958).

After murdering the girl's father, the ventriloquist imitates the dead man's voice, so as to inherit more money. The date above is the date of the first broadcast on WMGM, New York, from which this syndicated version may have been taken. Rex Barrett was born in the slums where the stronger person exploited the weak and where brothers Marty and Ritchie Amboy operated and grew wealthy. Typical of their operations was the visit Ritchie and his henchman “Hatchett” paid to Pop Sanders store…
