Born in St. Louis, Missouri 1/21/1904; died 1/27/1978 in New York City. He attended The University of Pennsylvania, then began his career as an actor on stage with a touring stock company.
He made his radio debut in 1929 in New York as a newscaster on WMCA, and as an announcer at WINS. Host of radio programs iuncluding The Wife Saver on stations WABC and WINS and NBC (1929- 1943); Yours Sincerely (1941-1942); Prescott Presents on NBC (1941-1942). Writer for Joe Palooka on CBS-Radio (1932).
Host of television programs including The Wife Saver on NBC (1947); Quizzing The News on ABC (1948-1949). Narrator for the 1950 film, The Golden Twenties.
