Baruch, Andre' Born in Paris, France 8/20/1910; died 9/15/1991 in Beverly Hills, California. Married to vocalist Bea Wain (5/1/1938-1991 his death). Baruch came to America at age 14. Educated at Columbia University and Pratt Institute. By 1931, he was an accomplished photographer, illustrator and pianist when he audition at CBS to play the piano. CBS made a mistake and tested him for an announcing job, and the rest is history. Baruch served as a lieutenant in the US Army during WWII, is credited with establishing a GI radio station in the North Africa theater of the war.

Baruch and wife Wain teamed up for a disc jockey show called Mr and Mrs Music, which was broadcast by WMCA-NEW York (1946-1949). In 1949 they had dropped the original title (which was continued on WMCA with Ted and Doris Steele), and they were on WABC-New York with a talk show. In 1971 they were broadcasting from Palm Beach, Florida on WPBR where they chatted with their radio show listners and interviewed celebrities. They were on the air for eight years in this four hours-a-day five times a week program. By the time they moved to Beverly Hills in 1980 they had done over 5,000 radio shows. In the 1980s the Baruch's hosted a syndicated radio program on which they played recordings from their Hit Parade shows.
