Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana 1/22/1899; died 1/29/1981 from complications of a stroke she suffered 12/16/1980. Married to Jack Matthews (1925-?). Elstner attended school in Chicago, West Virginia and Arkansas and was a high school athlete that excelled in dramatics. Elstner began her radio career in 1923.
