Spoiler : Carney, Art (Arthur William Mathew Carney) Born in Mt. Vernon, New York 11/4/1918; died 11/9/2003 following a long illness in a convalescent home in Chester, Connecticutt. Married and divorced to actress Jean Myers (1940-1965); Barbara Isaac (1966-1976); remarried to first wife Jean Myers (1977-2003 his death). Brother to actor/director Fred Carney. Carney was a born mimic that by gramar school was entertaining family members with his impressions of Edward G. Robinson, Jimmy Durante and Franklin D. Roosevelt. By high school he was entertaining at school dances and for civic organizations with an act that consisted of a tap-dancing routine and his imitations. He also won amateur contests with his impersonations, was named "wittiest boy" in his high school yearbook. Following graduation from high school, he became a member of the Horace Heidt Orchestra in 1936, for which he sang novelty tunes, did impressions and was announcer for Heidt's Pot O' Gold Show on NBC-Radio (1939-1941). Screen debut in Pot O' Gold (1941). Academy Award for Harry And Tonto (1974). Last movie was playing Frank in 1993's Last Action Hero.
