Murphy, Audie (Audie Leon Murphy) Born in Kingston, Texas 6/20/1924; died 5/28/1971 in a plane crash near Roa- noke, Virginia. Married and divorced to actress Wanda Hendrix (1949-1951); stewardess Pamela Archer (1951-his death). Before WWII Murphy did odd jobs. He gained fame as the most decorated WWII soldier (killed some 240 Germans). He enlisted as a private, discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. Recieved some 33 medals and citations for bravery including the Medal Of Honor. Screen debut in Beyond Glory (1948). Last movie was A Time For Dying (1969).
