"Baron Keyes" was the stage name of Alger Ira Soule, born 2 Oct 1898 at Greenwood, Clark County, Wisconsin to Francis Oscar Soule and Tena Marguerite Morken (Schofield) Soule. He died 29 Sep 1976 at Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California. Among other accomplishments he was a composer. One of his more popular songs was "Sweet Someone" with the words by Gordon Waggner, copyrighted in 1927, which became a popular song recorded by Hawaiian singer Don Ho, a well-known performer who flourished through the mid-1960s through the mid-1990s.

Writer of material for teams of Van and Schenk, Olsen and Johnson, Benny Fields, and Blossom Seeley. Keyes was a pioneer of children's programming, and made his radio debut in 1923 on KPO-San Francisco, later California stations KFI; KFRC; KFWL; KHJ; KPLA. In 1928, he created Air Castle on KHJ-Los Angeles, then was host of The Story Man.
