Born in St. Joseph, Missouri 5/23/1919. Married to actor-singer Larry Parks (1944-1975 his death). Mother of composer Garrett Parks; actor Andrew Parks. Godmother of actor Jeff Bridges. Studied acting under Sanford Meisner at the New York City Playhouse. Screen debut playing Shoo Shoo Grady in Big City (1948).
