Betty Hutton 02.26.1921 - 03.11.2007 (86 years old)
Sometimes it seems like the 1940s was also the decade of the bombshell actress. Blond and beautiful, Betty Hutton worked mostly as an actress, comedian, and singer. She started her career on stage at three-years-old singing with her sister and mother in a speakeasy. Problems with the police kept the family on the run. In Detroit, Hutton sang with some local bands in Detroit and headed to New York to attempt to make it on Broadway. Eventually she was scouted by a band leader which lead to recording and, eventually, to movies and television.
In addition to films and, later, television, Hutton acted on radio most often as a guest star appearing on the Bob Hope show, Command Performance, and the Edgar Bergen show to name a few. Click here to read more about Betty Hutton
