Spoiler : Goodwin, Bill (birth name was William Nettles Goodwin) Born in San Francisco, California 7/28/1910; found dead 5/9/1958 of an apparent heart attack in his automobile in Palm Springs, California. Married to actress Phillippa Hiber (?-1958 his death). Bill Goodwin was studying pre-law at the University of California when he decided to channel his career into show business instead. In 1929 he appeared in Broken Wing, a professional stage play production, and then performed with the Henry Duffy Players in Portland, Oregon. Subsequently he joined the staff of San Francisco’s KFBK and not long afterward shifted to KFRC in the same city. In 1932 Goodwin moved south to KHJ-Los Angeles, within two years, was a announcing California Melodies, a network show. Goodwin moved to New York in 1934, working as a CBS staff announcer. Screen debut playing Bing Crosby's announcer in in Let's Make Music (1940). Last two movies were The Big Beat and Going Steady (1958).
