Spoiler : Henry, Bill (birth name was William Mellors Henry) Born in Los Angeles, California (some sources say San Francisco) 8/21/1890; died 4/24/1970 of a heart ailment in Chatsworth, California. Graduated from Occidental College in 1921, and became a columnist for The Los Angeles Times, a job he held for many years. Newscaster beginning in 1922 when The Los Angeles Times newspaper founded a radio station.

Spoiler : In 1936, he covered the Olympic Games for CBS, then was an European correspondent for the network from 1939 to 1940. In 1940 he subbed for Hedda Hopper on The Sunkist Show, while he was commentator on By The Way, a CBS Pacific Coast Network news program. In 1941 he became the bureau chief in Washington for CBS, then in 1942 he took over Elmer Davis newscasts, and he continued with that newscast until 1948 when CBS decided to quit their five-minute newscasts. That same year Henry became a newscaster on Mutual-Radio with a five-times-a-week five minute newscast.

Spoiler : Panelist on Who Said That? for NBC-TV (1952-53). Host of Window on Washington for NBC-TV (1953). Henry was once chairman of the Washington based Radio-TV Correspondents Association, and received the Headliner Medals in 1943 and 1948.
