Aherne, Brian (birth name was Brian de Lacy Aherne) Born in Worcestershire, England 5/2/1902; died 2/10/1986 of heart failure in Venice, Florida. Brother of actor Patrick Aherne (1901-1970). Married and divorced actress Joan Fontaine (1939-1945). Aherne began by following his father's career as an architect, but soon after the acting bug bit. He made his British screen debut in The Eleventh Commandment (1924). Americian stage debut in The Barretts Of Wimpole Street (1931). American movie debut with Song Of Songs (1933).
