Spoiler : Peters, Brock (birth name was George Fisher), aka Broc Peters) Born in Harlem, New York 7/2/1927; died 8/23/2005 from complications of pancreatic cancer, which he had been diagnosed with in January of 2005 at his home in Los Angeles, California. Married to former television producer Delores Daniels (1961-1990 her death). Peters attended Music and Arts High School in New York. At age 15 played Jim in the 1943 Broadway play, Porgy and Bess. Attended the University of Chicago (1944-1945); City College in New York (1945-1947). He worked as a Y.M.C.A. and Parks Department instuctor, a hospital orderly and shipping clerk while training to act on stage. He also honed his resonant bass singing voice as a member of the de Paur Infantry Chorus and toured clubs in America and Canada with a cabaret act. Screen debut playing sergeant Brown in Carmen Jones (1954). Last feature movie was playing the doctor in No Prom for Cindy (2002). Played Darth Vader in the 1981 National Public Radio version of Star Trek.

Spoiler : Peters received the NAACP Image Award, was inducted into the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame in 1976, received a Life Achievement Award from the National Film Society in 1977. The Screen Actors Guild honored him with an achievement award in 1990, citing his durability and versatility. He got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1992.
