During the 1940s, Eliot was an announcer for Mutual. Programs he was associated with were It Pays to Be Ignorant; Judy and Jane; Jerry Wayne's Melody Lane. He was the mystery voice on Twenty Questions for Mutual-Radio (1946-1954).
