Buddy Twiss was an American actor and dancer. He was born on January 27, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, and began his career as a child performer in the 1940s. Twiss is best known for his work as a dancer and choreographer, having appeared in a number of musicals and dance productions on Broadway and in films during the 1950s and 1960s.
Twiss made his Broadway debut in 1953 in the musical "Me and Juliet," and went on to appear in several other musicals including "Damn Yankees," "The Pajama Game," and "Bye Bye Birdie." He also appeared in the film adaptation of "Damn Yankees" in 1958, and had a small role in the 1961 film "West Side Story," which won 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture.
In addition to his work as a performer, Twiss also worked as a choreographer, creating dance sequences for a number of productions on Broadway and in films. He was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Choreography in 1967 for his work on the musical "Walking Happy."
Buddy Twiss passed away on February 1, 2018, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 85.
