McQueen, Butterfly (birth name was Thelma Lincoln, others say McQueen) Born in Tampa, Florida 1/8/1911; died 12/22/1995 of second and third-degree burns covering seventy percent of her body from a fire caused by a kerosene heater in her Augusta, Georgia home. Bachelor's degree in political science from the City College of New York City at the age of sixty-four in 1975. On Harlem stage at age thirteen. Broadway debut in Brown Sugar (1937). On screen Gone With the Wind (1939) as the maid "Prissy," mostly remembered for that role.
