Spoiler : Cathy Lewis Born Spokane, Washington, December 26, 1916 Died Los Angeles, California, November 20, 1968 Age 51 (cancer) She started as a singer for bandleader Kay Kyser when she was only a teenager. With that gig she wound up in Chicago and did quite a bit of radio drama. (She was the original Cat Wife on Lights Out!) Moved to California to study at the Pasadena Playhouse which led to radio work in Los Angeles. Married Elliot Lewis in 1943 (she said the nice thing about that was that she didn't have to change her driver's license because she was already Cathy Lewis!) Did a handful of movies for MGM (who changed her name, temporarily, to Catherine Lewis). After her divorce from Elliot in 1958 she did some TV but mainly lived a quiet life in Hollywood until her death from cancer. Considered by many to be the epitome of a dramatic radio actress.

Spoiler : Elliott Lewis and Cathy Lewis were two of radio's greatest stars. They married in 1943. (Lewis was both her maiden and married name.) They usually worked independent of each other but worked together on the CBS anthology series On Stage in 1953. After their divorce in 1958 Elliott married Mary Jane Croft, who was often featured on the On Stage show, sometimes as Elliott's wife.
