Spoiler : She was so eccentric - she did a one woman show at The Backlot at Studio One in WEHO. Half of it was poems about cats. It was quite a strange and fun evening. Long time ago.

Spoiler : Yes, one forgets how attractive she was, because she was so active as a character actress in her later years, with little of the glamour or looks of her youth

Spoiler : Charles Laughton was a fantastic actor....he put his soul into making characters seem real.

Spoiler : Not to take away from Victor McLaglen's performance in The Informer, but Laughton's role as Capt. Bligh was outstanding. He stood out in every scene.

Spoiler : All 3 Blighs were in 3 excellent movies. Great actors performing in a great historical moment but I believe Trevor Howard was the nastiest of the 3.

Spoiler : For me his best performance will always be in "Hobson's Choice". When I'm going out to meet friends for a drink or two I always say that "Im off to Moonrakers" and that I won't be back till very late. Still amuses me if not the lady of the house.

Spoiler : He was a great actor.

Spoiler : Some of his larger than life characterizations of historical or literary figures such as Captain Bligh in 'Mutiny on the Bounty' and Quasimodo in 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' are regarded as acting masterworks.

Spoiler : Charles Laughton is one of my all time favorite actors ever. I totally enjoy him in whatever part he plays. If he is in the movie, it has to be good!

Laughton began his career in England on stage and in motion pictures (1926). Moved to America in 1931. Won an Academy Award for The Pri- vate Life Of Henry VII (1933). Last movie was Advise And Consent (1962). Guest star on radio programs including Everyman's Theatre for NBC (1940-41); Blue Ribbon Town for CBS (1943); Orson Welles Almanac for CBS (1944); Columbia Presents Corwin for CBS (1944); Studio One for CBS (1948); Hollywood Byline for ABC (1949-1950).
