Heston began his career on radio soap operas, then studied drama at the Northwestern University where he met his wife. Served in the Eleventh Army Air Corp. during WWII. After the war acted with his wife on stage, then directed plays at the Thomas Wolfe Memorial Theatre in Ashville, North Carolina. Broadway debut in Anthony and Cleopatra (1947). Screen debut in Dark City (1950). Academy Award for Ben Hur (1959). Narrator for F.D.R. on ABC-TV (1965). Jason Colby on The Colbys for ABC-TV (1985-1987).
