Professional basketball (Boston Celtics); baseball player (drafted by the Yankees in 1942) until the U.S. Army drafted him for WWII service. After discharge from Army returned to baseball playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers,; Chicago Cubs; Cub's minor league farm (the old Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League) . His hamming around got him a bit part in MGM's movie Pat And Mike (1952). Lucas McCain on The Rifleman for ABC-TV (1958-1963). Attorney John Egan on Arrest And Trial for ABC-TV (1963-1964). Spoiler : One of the last things Connors did in his career was play a corrupt Sheriff in a short-lived, but beloved horror/action series from the then fledgling Fox network called "Werewolf". It was a cross between "The Fugitive" and "The Incredible Hulk". It was at a time when Fox was a Saturday and Sunday network.
