Very prolific entertainer who got his start as a barroom piano player. Today, he is best remembered for his Charlie Weaver character which got its start on a radio program with Dave Willock in 1950. After 1959 he only appeared as Charlie Weaver, except when he did a Mrs. Butterworth’s pancake syrup commercial for TV. He played Mrs. Butterworth. Some of the shows he did on radio include Cliff and Lolly, Hollywood Spotlight, Calling All Cars, Jack Benny, Rudy Vallee, Red Skelton, Honorable Archie, Point Sublime, Bob Burns, Command Performance, Glamour Manor, Ellery Queen, Hopalong Cassidy, Fibber McGee & Molly, Lum and Abner, Great Gildersleeve, Dave Willock/Cliff Arquette, Honest Harold, Mr. and Mrs. Blandings, The Whistler, Wild Bill Hickok, Dragnet, Roy Rogers, and Listen to Grandma. He was father of Lewis Arquette and grandfather of Patricia Arquette, Rosanna Arquette, Alexis Arquette, Richmond Arquette, and David Arquette.

Born in Toledo, Ohio 12/28/1905 (some sources say 1907); died 9/23/1974 of a heart attack in Burbank, California. Father of character actor Lewis Arquette. Arquette was schooled as a map maker, then was a cartoonist on a Toledo newspaper before he became a pianist in night clubs. Joined the Henry Halstead band in 1923 as a pianist. Radio debut in 1924. Even as a young man Arquette had a husky voice, making good money playing old people.
