Born in Poland ca 1890; died 10/3/1974. He came to America as an infant when his family immigrated to settle in Boston. He graduated from Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, then studied music at Ecole Cesar Frank in Paris, France. Doctor Martin was a psychiatrist that was an expert in music composing and conducting. He won a Pulitzer Prize with Paul Green for composing the score for Roll Sweet Chariot.

He began a radio career at Boston stations of WEEI and WNAC. He was associate music director for the New England Yankee Network, a regional New England band of stations.

Music conductor for The Tydol Jubilee (aka Music On The Air) for CBS-Radio (1933). Host of Youth On Parade, originating from WEEI-Boston, and broadcast on the full CBS Network (1942- 1945). The series was also on local Boston TV during the 1960s.
