Born in Quoque, New York 1/10/1916; died 3/27/1977 of a heart attack. Gardiner began his radio career as a page for NBC. Later he was hired as an announcer at WAIR-Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and by 1938 was chief announcer at the station, then shortly moved to WRC-Washington,
D.C. In 1942, he moved to New York as an announcer for NBC-BLUE.
