Born in Anderson, Indiana 10/10/1910; died 5/6/1980 in Indiana. Studied medicine at The University of Indiana, but decided to enter broadcasting. In 1930 he became an accountant and part time announcer for WHBU in his hometown. In the middle 1930s he move to Chicago as announcer, then in 1940 moved to New York to announce.
