Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan 11/18/1900; died 12/30/1967 following a
long illness in Hollywood, California. Quinn was an un-employed cartoonist- gag writer-cartoonist when he teamed up with Marian and Jim Jordan in 1931. The Jordans and Quinn created the CBS and NBC Radio Network program, Smackout (1931-1935).

Quinn and the Jordans created The Fibber McGee and Molly Show on NBC-Radio in 1935. Quinn was the program's head writer from 1935 until 1950, then assistant writer for the program (1950-1951). Fibber McGee And Molly Show was on NBC-TV briefly (9/1959-1/1960).

Quinn created the characters of Gildersleeve and Beulah that spun off onto their own series after appearing on The Fibber McGee and Molly Show. The Great Gildersleeve was featured on The Fibber McGee And Molly for NBC-Radio (1939-1941), then The Great Gildersleeve was a full series on NBC-Radio (1941-1957). There was a syndicated television series (1955).

Quinn was the creator-writer for The Halls Of Ivy on NBC-Radio (1950-1952); CBS-TV (1954-1955). Winner of a Peabody Award for The Halls Of Ivy.
