Spoiler :
It should be pointed out that Graser was a small man and never learned how to ride a horse. Brace Beemer had been in the Lone Ranger cast since the beginning and he had the look (tall and muscular), plus he could ride a horse. So when they the Lone Ranger did personal appearances, it was Brace who filled in for the Ranger (mouthing Graser's "HI-YO SILVER!") Beemer was the announcer for the Lone Ranger at the time of Graser's death. It took a couple of weeks for Beemer to assume the role of the Ranger on the show. The storyline was that the Ranger was in an accident and he lost his voice, so it stood to reason that his voice would sound different after his recovery.
