Herlihy, Ed (birth name was Edward Joseph Herlihy)
Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts 8/14/1909; died 1/30/1999 at his Manhattan, New York home. Brother of radio and television personality Walter Herlihy. Nephew of comic Fred Allen.
Educated at the Boston College. Herlihy began his career as an announcer at WLOE-Boston in 1932, WHDH the same year, then WEEI in 1933. In 1935, he became a New York NBC-Radio staff announcer.
