Spoiler : I loved Eddie Albert. My favorites? His seemingly hundreds of guest appearances on television over the decades (no, NOT Green Acres!) playing a variety of characters, good and bad. Films? The Longest Day and Oklahoma! come to mind. Usually supporting roles.

Spoiler : He did wonderful work in movies but most people remember him for Green Acres, because it brought him into their homes every week.

Spoiler : It's hilarious the way that Eddie Albert 's character dressed to farm on Green Acres...suit and tie! He could never forget the attorney in him. But he would have liked to forget Lisa's cooking! May this great actor rest in peace. Although Green Acress had respectable ratings, it fell victim to CBS's elimination of its rural shows. A true shame, many people loved the show.

Spoiler : Albert, Eddie (birth name was Edward Alberr Heimberger) Born in Rock Island, Illinois 4/22/1908; died 5/26/2005 of pneumonia at his home in Pacific Palisades, California. Albert had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease some ten years before his death, but still lived an active, full and happy life, but remained at his home during the last ten years of his life. Married and divorced to Grayce Brandt (?-1936-?) (also see); Mexican actress Margo (1944-85 her death). Father of actor Edward Albert. Albert's family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota when he was a year old. He was educated at the University of Minnesota, beginning his career on Minnesota radio stations as a singer. Grayce Brandt, Herbert Nelson and Edward Heimberger formed a singing group in the late 1920s called "The Threesome." The announcers nicknamed him Eddie Hamburger. Screen debut playing Bing Edwards in Brother Rat (1938). Last movie was a 1995 made for television movie playing Herbert Gower in The Barefoot Executive. Served in the US Navy during WWII.
