Peabody, Eddie (birth name was Edwin E. Peabody)
Born in Reading, Massachusetts 2/19/1902; died 11/7/1970 of a stroke in Covington, Kentucky shortly after a performance in a nightclub. On screen in Vitaphone and Paramount shorts (1936- 1938). WWII service as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. The "King Of The Banjo," as he was nicknamed, also played 33 other music instruments.
Featured on radio programs including The Pure Oil Hour for NBC (1933); The National Barn Dance for WLS-Chicago and NBC (1940-1946).
