He was far more than a gangster character actor.

He is one of my all time favourites and I like all of his films. But if I had to choose, four come to mind. Little Caesar, Double Indemnity, Key Largo and of course his memorable comedy turn in Larceny Inc. Edward G. was just a very talented actor, drama or comedy.

Married and divorced to actress Gladys Lloyd (1927-1956); Jane Adler (1958-1973 his death). He came to America in 1903. Robinson attended the Columbia University and the American Academy Of Dramatic Arts. Stage debut as Sato in "Paid in Full," at Binghamton, New York (1913). Screen debut in The Bright Shawl (1923). Last movie was Soylent Green (1973). He served in the Armed Forces during WWII, spoke at least eight languages, he worked on propaganda radio broadcasts during WWII.
