After he died, his teenaged daughter Marilyn took his place on the radio show he was doing with Billy Jones.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia 3/15/1883; died 3/9/1939 from complications of bronchial pneumonia in Jamaica, New York. Hare
of the (How-do-you-do everybody, how-do-you-do?) "Happiness Boys" comedy team. The comedy team got their name from their first sponsor (New York's Happiness Candy Stores) when they made their 1921 radio debut on station WEAF-New York. The team appeared on radio for the next 18 years until Hare's untimely death. Some other names the comedy team was known by came from their current sponsors were, The Best Foods Boys, The Tastee Loafers and The Interwoven Pair. Team starred on their own show for NBC-BLUE (1933-36) and was featured on Community Sing for CBS-Radio (1936-?). At the time of Hare's death they were scheduled to star on a new WMCA-Radio show titled, The Three Little Sachs. Marilyn Hare (Hare's daughter) took his place in the comedy team until Jones died in 1940.
