Barton, Frank (birth name was Francis C. Barton) Born in Chicago, Illinois 9/17/1903; died 1/11/1995. At the time Barton became a radio announcer in 1932, he was also playing trumpet with a Denver, Colorado dance band. By 1938, he was a staff annoucner at KGO-KPO in San Francisco. By 1939, he was a staff announcer at KNBH- Hollywood. One of many announcer assistants for Dr. I.Q., The Mental Banker on NBC-Radio and ABC-Radio (1939-1947). Announcer for radio programs including Open House on NBC (1941); one of three announcers for A Day In The Life Of Dennis Day on NBC (1946-1951); The James And Pamela Mason Show on NBC (1949); One Man's Family on NBC (1950-1959). Announcer on NBC-TV until his retirement in 1974.
