Frankie Remley (Francis William Remley) Born Moorhead, Minnesota, October 13, 1901 Died Newport Beach, California, January 28, 1967 Age 65 You thought Frankie was just a character on the Jack Benny Program? Nope. He was for real. He really was a guitar player who played for several radio programs on NBC, CBS, and Mutual. But it was Jack Benny who gave him the name. (And Elliott Lewis gave him something, we don't know what!)

Died 1/28/1967 at age 64. Remley was a guitarist in Phil Harris' band while Harris' band provided music for The Jack Benny Program. Remley was often mentioned as the drinking buddy of Harris, but Remley was never heard. When Harris and wife Faye began their situation comedy on radio, Remley became a character, but the character was played by actor Elliott Lewis.
