Born in Brooklyn, New York 5/28/1920; died 11/15/1999 of prostate cancer at his home in Los Angeles, California. Levitt began his career as a newspaper reporter in Chicago. Served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII as a bomb
disposal officer. Following the war, Levitt moved to Los Angeles, teamed up with writer Robert Mitchell. The team were writers for The Adventures Of Philip Marlowe on CBS-Radio (1948-1950).
