Spoiler : Born in Christopher, Illinois 12/22/1917; died 11/29/1999 of congestive heart failure at his daughter's home in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Rayburn was raised in Chicago, Illinois. Later he moved to New York City to become an opera singer, but began his career as an NBC guide, then became announcer for many radio stations in Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York. Following WWII he was a disk jockey on Rayburn And Finch with Dee Finch for WNEW-New York. That program helped popularize the idea of morning drive-time radio.
