Born in Deposit, New York 1/21/1914; died 4/8/1975 in North Hollywood, California. Married to Ruth Carhart (1940-?). Graduated from State Teachers College in San Diego, California, and while attending the college, he was in charge of the College broadcasts on KFSD-San Diego.

Following his graduation in 1935, he decided to be an actor, and formed a WPA drama group and a Shakespearan troupe. By 1936, he had returned to radio as an announcer and producer at KGB-San Diego.

In 1939, he moved to New York where he became a newscaster, and an announcer for programs including John J. Anthony's Goodwill Hour; Can You Top This; Life Can Be Beautiful; The Original Amateur Hour; Portia Faces Life; Ellen Randolph; Short Short Story; Vic and Sade.
