Died 11/29/1998 at age 85 of pneumonia at the Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach, California. Member of the bands of Freddy Martin, Ray Noble and Benny Goodman during the 30's. Jazz guitarist that moved to California in 1938, went to the Epiphone guitar company and created a seven string guitar, or as he called it, "his lap piano." Guitarist for the 1955 movie Pete Kelly's Blues; NBC-TV version of the movie in 1959. Capitol Records artist during the 1960's and 1970's until an illness and a hand injury caused him to drop from the music scene. Returned to record on the Concord Jazz label during the 1990's.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio York 1/17/1922; died 11/16/1991 in London, England. Writer for episodes of Mr. And Mrs. North on the NBC and CBS Radio Networks (1942-1955). Writer for Mulligan's Travels, a 1947 audition program for radio.
