Born in Kansas City, Missouri 1/15/1899; died 3/24/1982 in New York City. Married to Jane Sherwood (1928-1974 her death). Ace began his career as cub reporter for The Kansas City Journal-Post, later he became the paper's movie and play reviewer. In 1927, he began his broadcasting career at KMBC- Kansas City, reading Sunday comics to children and hosting a weekly gossip and movie show called Ace Goes to the Movies. During a 1930 show he introduced his wife Jane to his listening audience, and their ad lib performance led to Ace writing and co-starring with wife wife Jane on The Easy Aces for CBS-Radio (1930-1945), and the syndicated filmed version on DuMont-TV (1949-1950). Head writer for The Danny Kaye Show on CBS-Radio (1945).
