Born in Washington, D.C. 7/10/1888; died 5/9/1942 of a brain embolism in New York City. He worked his way through music school as a saleman and railroad clerk.

McNamee began his radio career as a singer in 1920, then in 1923 he was on NBC-Radio station WEAF as singer, announcer and sportscaster. He always opened his programs with, "good evening, ladies and gentlemen of the radio audience" and closed his programs with, "this is Graham McNamee saying good night all."
