Spoiler : Berger, Hal Born in California 12/18/1897; died in 2/1980 at Albany, California. One of radio's earliest sportscasters. Berger created The In-Laws on a Los Angeles, California local radio station in 1930. That program evolved into Shafter Parker And His Circus for the Don Lee West Coast Network (1939-1940); Mutual- Radio (1941).

Spoiler : I found a letter in my father's things (Phillip Christophers) while clearing out an old file. Dad was in the RNZAF based in Tonga in 1949 and used to listen to Hal Berger in the late 40's. The letter is from Hal Berber responding to dad's comments about how dad enjoyed the baseball broadcasts. Hal was explaining the recreation of the games in the studio from the East coast and how he could make it sound real by listening to the original broadcast tapes and then retelling the story of the game and injecting some real passion into it..Great to read the letter!
