Just a note of thanks. Harry Bartell is among my favorite radio voices, along with other greats like Elliott Lewis, Agnes Moorhead, Charlotte Lawrence, Virginia Gregg, Joseph Kerns, Dan Duryea and Danny Kaye (in serious roles). Bartell, Harry Born in New Orleans, Louisiana 11/28/1913; died 2/26/2004 in Ashland, Oregon. Raised in Houston, Texas. Graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Rice University in 1933. Attended Harvard Business School, worked a couple years in a department store, then moved to Hollywood. He began his acting career at the Pasadena Playhouse, which led to his acting in some 185 radio series,77 television series and over a dozen motion pictures. Screen debut with an uncredited role in Destination Tokyo (1943). Last movie was playing Phillip Ganzer in the 1975 made-for- television movie, Mobile Two.
