Spoiler : Fred was a huge supporter of Henry Morgan when Morgan was trying to make a name for himself on radio. He had Henry on his radio series as a guest many times, at a point when Henry wasn't well known to the general public at all. I've often wondered if Fred ever did any guest shots on Henry's radio shows-- if so, I've never heard about it, and no copy is in common circulation.

Spoiler : Morgan, Henry (birth name was Henry Lerner von Ost, Jr.) Born in New York City 3/31/1915; died 5/19/1994 of lung cancer at his Manhattan, New York home. Married and divorced to Isobel Gibbs (?-?). Witty radio and television personality that poked fun at his own sponsors, usually at his own expense. He had the reputation of being "Radio's Bad Boy." Some of the things he said on radio about his sponsors was, "Lifesavers cheated the public by putting holes in the candy," and when Oh! Henry was his sponsor, the candy maker claimed in their ads that one candybar was a meal, Morgan said, "after three meals of the candy your teeth would fall out." Morgan also had a long time fued with Dorothy Kilgallen, and he wrote several insulting things about her in his autobiography.

Spoiler : Morgan began his career as a page for station WMCA-New York in 1931, later was an announcer at the station, moving to WCAU-Philadelphia, WEBC-Deluth, WNAC-Boston, and WOR-New York.

For Monitor, Morgan reviewed television programs that had been broadcast during that day. From 1966 to 1970, he was a host for Monitor.
