Regular performer on The Jackie Gleason Show for CBS-TV (1963-1964). Hank McClure on Mr. Broadway for CBS-TV (1964).

Spoiler : I saw Blackboard Jungle recently and while I liked it, I thought it was interesting that it was told entirely from the point of view of the authority figures, the teachers. The students were portrayed as largely out-of-control monsters. It's a sign of the changing demographics of movie-goers that this kind of film is now told from the point of view of the students.

Spoiler : This made me think that Blackboard Jungle and Rebel Without a Cause, both made in the same year, complimented each other seeing as one was the point of the of teachers and the other of teenagers. I was curious as to how the two fared at the box office. Blackboard Jungle was a big hit making $8.1 million, while Rebel Without a Cause made only $4.5 million. Yet Rebel is by far the better remembered film today.

Spoiler : Horace McMahon played a lot of cops. Really good.

Spoiler : An Eye Opener for it's time...he was adequate in a small role in this...Vic Marrow and Sidney Poitier were hard to take as teenagers...but a great film still.
