Harry Clifford Keel (April 13, 1919 – November 7, 2004), known professionally as Howard Keel, was an American actor and singer. He starred in many film musicals of the 1950s. Keel starred in the CBS television series Dallas from 1981-91. But to an earlier generation, with his rich bass-baritone singing voice, he was known as the star of some of the most famous MGM film musicals ever made.

Keel, Howard (birth name was Harry Clifford Keel) Born in Gillespie, Illinois 4/13/1919; died 11/7/2004 of colon cancer at his home in Palm Desert, California. Married and divorced to Rosemary Cooper (1943-1949); Helen Anderson (1949- 1970); Judy Magamoll (1970-2004 his death). At age eleven moved to California following the death of his father. During WWII, Keel was a representative for Douglas Aircraft Corporation in Southern California before he began his career as a singer. Stage debut in a 1945 West Coast production of Carousel. Screen debut in the 1948 British movie, The Small Voice while touring Europe in a stage production of Oklahoma. Last movie was My Father's House (2002). President of Screen Actor's Guild (1958-1959).
