James, Hugh (birth name was Hugh J. Mcllrevy)
Born in the Bronx, New York 10/13/1915; died 6/17/2001. Educated at New York University, The University of Pennsylvania and George Washington University. James began his broadcasting career in 1933 as an NBC page, later was a tour guide. He began his radio announcing career in 1935 at WFII-Philadelphia. In 1936 he joined NBC's staff in Washington, D.C., then moved to NBC in New York in 1937.
