Gorin, Igor (birth name was Charles Igor Gorin)
Born in the Ukrainian sector of Russia 10/26/1908; died 3/24/1982 in Tucson, Arizona where he was living in retirement. After his music education at Vienna, Austria's Vienna Conservatory, he moved to America in 1933. He became a Citizen in 1939. Operatic baritone that made his debut in 1939 at the Hollywoood Bowl, then sang with several opera companies including the Met. He joined ASCAP in 1941. Composed of tunes including Lament; Caucasian Song; Safe by de Lawd; Lullaby; Within My Dreams. Gorin appeared in two movies; played barber Nicki Papaloopas in Broadway Melody of 1938 (1937); Mr Ford in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor (1965).

Beginning in the early 1930s, he appeared on radio programs including The Chicago Theater of the Air; Hollywood Hotel; The Voice of Firestone. Emcee for Over There, which was sponsored by the US Treasury Department and broadcast on NBC-BLUE (1942-1943).
